Yorktown's Record Wins Losses
2 0
June 26 - The Shock continues to roll!
Yorktown 13
New Fairfield 1
The Fantastic Farmer Duo continued the magic for the shock, this time with Carolyn Farmer overpowering New Fairfield with a one-hit, 10 strikeout performance (not really sure how many K's but it was close to 10 in 5 innings)... While the game looked like it might be a 1-0 or 2-0 game after the first few innings, Miwa Wenzel brought the Shock ahead with hard hit to left that scored two and got Miwa to third. Katarina Weigel delivered a perfect bunt to break the game open in the fifth, and Marissa Vilarino drove in two with a hit to right field. Leanne Farmer delivered the biggest hit with a long triple to centerfield in the sixth.
The team overcame some early mishaps in baserunning with some good at bats, though we always could have used more hits.
June 25 - Congratulations to the Shock to playing so well in their first game!
Bedford 1
Yorktown 12
Leanne Farmer pitched a masterful game allowing only one run and one hit (a bunt single). Palak Bhambri led the offense with an explosive triple in the second inning. Catchers Allysa Bloch and Allison O'Connell led the defense with great work behind the plate. Maria Panebianco made two stellar catches in centerfield and had two hits.
Tuesday's game versus New Fairfield could be a little tougher challenge, but Yorktown has the edge. Big game this week is Thursday against East Fishkill. Beating East Fishkill will make this team a serious contender for #1 in the league!
